Illegal Trash Dumping
1/21/2010

It has come to our attention that some businesses may have been illegally dumping their trash in our outdoor litter receptacles. Those receptacles are for the public’s use only. The Encino Commons Business Improvement District purchased the receptacles and pays a maintenance company to empty them on a weekly basis.

Because of this illegal dumping, the receptacles are often overflowing and the area looks dirty and unkempt. We urge you to cease emptying your trash in these receptacles and either use a bin or dispose of it another way. Should the problem continue, we will ask the vendor who removes our trash to sift through it and find out who is responsible for this.

Through the annual assessments imposed upon commercial property owners, the BID strives to keep Encino Commons a clean, aesthetically pleasing place for patrons to visit. Overflowing trash is not conducive to that goal. We ask for your assistance in maintaining the area for your customers and other businesses as well.
